Competency to work in Water Analysis ("WA") or General Analysis (“GA”) or Gas Chromatography Analysis (“GC”) Laboratories
Conducts analysis of samples from multiple processes and products in accordance with standard procedures, work instructions and methods

Monitors product quality to ensure compliance to standards and specifications
Provides technical support and assistance to chemists and engineers as requested
Abides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of EHSS principles and values; champions safety
Documents and notifies Lab Staff of any LIMS issue
Ensures that all Shift Changeover Communications have been completed
Understands and performs all work following OSHA regulations and Company policies and procedures
Ensures any employee entering the laboratory complies with all Lotte Chemical safety requirements
Participates in and completes all assigned training programs
Responds rapidly and appropriately to emergencies following safety guidelines and procedures; uses equipment, chemicals and procedures appropriate to the situation
Performs other duties assigned by management that generally fall within the expected scope of this position
Monitors inventory in applicable lab and documents as needed to order supplies.
Issues work and entry permits for general, hazardous; provides lock out, tag out documentation
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to use database systems and other programs and applications used by this position.
Fluent in English language including reading, writing and speaking; ability to read and write at a minimum of high school level; ability to clearly communicate to all levels in organization
Tech II
Training: Presenter for others on equipment and methods.
Ensures that test results are documented in LIMS, Documentation from test results are organized and correctly filed and completes COA's.
Reviews methods as requested; assists in setting up methods
Conducts intermediate troubleshooting evaluation of instrumentation, document the instrument issue in conjunction with Lab Tech III and Lab Staff (as needed).
Understands and Conducts all applicable calibrations and SPC as required on a intermediate level.
Conducts any assigned assessments for Safety and Environmental; e.g. safety showers, waste SAA, etc.
Enter Maintenance work requests for repairs such as building related issues, life station alarms, etc.
Tech III
Training: Presenter for others on equipment and methods.
Ensures that test results are documented in LIMS, Documentation from test results are organized and correctly filed and completes COA's.
Reviews methods as requested; assists in setting up methods.
Conducts advanced troubleshooting evaluation of instrumentation, document the instrument issue, repairs upon Staff approval.
Understands and Conducts all applicable calibrations and SPC as required on a advanced level.
Orders GC gases as needed.
Initially responds to calls from assigned Lab Technicians reporting in sick; schedule coverage to cover shift utilizing Work Schedule and Overtime Tracking adhering to Lotte Chemical Overtime Policy (Unscheduled Coverage)
Conducts any assigned assessments for Safety and Environmental; e.g. safety showers, waste SAA, etc.
Enter Maintenance work requests for repairs such as building related issues, life station alarms, etc.
Monitors schedule for Fatigue Risk Management; reports findings to Quality Manager

Tech II
Works under minimum supervision
Two to five years of laboratory experience in a petrochemical plant or analytical environment.
Knowledge of and experience with laboratory equipment including, but not limited to, Gas chromatography (GC), and general analysis equipment and methods.
Ability and experience in working with batch and continuous operations in laboratory environment
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through on assignments
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to use database systems and other programs and applications used by this position.
Fluent in English language including reading, writing and speaking; ability to read and write at a minimum of high school level; ability to clearly communicate to all levels in organization
Tech III

Minimum of 5 years’ laboratory experience in a petrochemical plant or analytical environment.
Knowledge of and experience with laboratory equipment including, but not limited to, Gas chromatography (GC), and general analysis equipment and methods.
Ability and experience in working with batch and continuous operations in laboratory environment
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through on assignments
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to use database systems and other programs and applications used by this position.

Education Requirement
High school diploma or equivalent required
Technical school degree for the lab or bachelor’s degree in science area such as chemistry preferred

This position requires an employee to be in a lab environment. There will be exposure to various chemicals and compounds, including fumes and smells, some of them hazardous. Employee must be able to wear PPE required by the location. General lab noise from equipment may be experienced. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. All environments are safe with appropriate PPE.
