The Director of Annual Giving is responsible for administering all aspects of the planning, directing and implementing of a comprehensive annual giving program that reaches out to all of the College’s constituencies, including businesses, alumni, faculty and staff, parents and friends of the College.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Plans, manages and executes the College’s Annual Giving campaign including all aspects of the direct mail campaign, phonathons, social media and personal solicitation as required to secure unrestricted operating support from businesses, alumni, faculty and staff, parents, and friends of the College.
· Cultivates and strengthens relationships with donors through personal visits.
· Manages a discreet donor and prospect portfolio.
· Develops all Annual Giving materials and in collaboration with the Alumni Office, develops social media content for the division.
· Leads the identification and recruitment of volunteer leadership for the Annual Giving campaign.
· Recruits, trains and manages phonathon workers as needed.
· Works collaboratively with the Director of Alumni Relations to build alumni engagement and participation in giving to the College.
· Prepares an annual plan of operation for annual giving with quantifiable goals and objectives; prepares an annual report on the activities of the office and the outcomes of the plan of operation.
· Assists the Development Division with special events and other activities related to fulfillment of departmental goals and objectives.
· Utilizes mobile computing beyond the confines of the office for the purpose of being accessible and resourceful while traveling.
· Accessible and reachable by telephone or text message at times other than College business hours for the purpose of staying in touch with the office or donors while traveling.
· Other related projects, duties and responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
MINIMUM
· Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Marketing or Business and/or three years’ experience
· Ability to establish priorities, set objectives, and achieve stated goals.
· Proven experience in telemarketing, direct mail, face to face and internet solicitation techniques.
· Experience working with customers or clients with a wide range of differing needs and high expectations who can be demanding of individual attention.
· Must have computer skills that include word processing, spreadsheets, email, database and social media applications.
· Must be available for night and weekend hours as needed. Travel a necessity and is estimated at 50% or greater for this position.
· Fundraising experience through personal gift solicitation or comparable experience.
· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills as well as an ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
PREFERRED
· Master’s Degree.
· Educational and/or work experience at a selective, private, residential liberal arts college.
