This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Success Center Supervisor - Moore County Campus who will be all-in on our mission and who oversees the daily operations, staff, and academic support services of the Moore County Campus (MCC) Success Center. This role supports student success by coordinating tutoring services, supervising staff and tutors, collaborating with faculty, and implementing strategies that promote academic achievement, retention, and completion. The Supervisor ensures services are student-centered, data-informed, and aligned with Amarillo College’s mission while maintaining tutoring standards consistent with College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) best practices. Additionally, this position supports assessment, continuous improvement initiatives, and campus outreach efforts that advance student success and academic excellence.
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree.
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Education, Student Services, Curriculum & Instruction, Higher Education Administration, or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Three (3) or more years of experience in teaching, tutoring, academic support services, or a related instructional environment.
Preferred: Two (2) or more years of supervisory or leadership experience, preferably within a higher education or student support services setting.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, including prioritizing tasks, delegating responsibilities, and supporting staff development.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage students, faculty, staff, and community partners.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments and teams.

Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Experience collecting and analyzing data related to student outcomes, tutoring effectiveness, and academic performance.

Knowledge of tutoring best practices and instructional support strategies that promote student success and retention.

Experience developing and facilitating tutor training or professional development aligned with CRLA or similar standards.

Familiarity with instructional practices in key academic areas such as Mathematics, English, and the Sciences.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment with sensitive information.

Working knowledge of budgeting, purchasing procedures, and inventory management.

Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and student-centered service delivery.

Proficiency with student information systems, learning management systems (LMS), and office software such as Microsoft Office.

Ability to represent the Success Center and Amarillo College professionally to students, parents, faculty, and community partners.
Salary: Amarillo College follows a lag pay strategy, with starting offers typically between the minimum and midpoint of the pay grade, rarely reaching the maximum to support long-term growth within each position.
Pay grade
13 Amarillo College Pay Grades (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to frequently move between offices and campus buildings and must have the ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and/or maneuver office supplies and materials up to twenty-five (25) pounds as needed.
Working Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary).
Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office and student learning environment and routinely uses standard office equipment including computers, phones, printers, and copiers. The Success Center is a high-traffic area that may involve frequent interruptions. Software commonly used includes Microsoft Office, Colleague, and other educational technology applications. Work may occasionally be performed outside of the office setting and may require limited supervision.
