Congregation Sons of Israel in Briarcliff Manor is a dynamic, innovative, and friendly community. We are looking for creative, energetic teachers for 2, 4 & 5/6 Grades on Sundays as well as a Tuesday teacher. This is a part-time position. Our classes meet on Sundays, 9-11:00am and Tuesdays, 4-6:00pm.
Qualifications for 2nd grade teacher:
- Broad knowledge of Torah, Israel, Mitzvot, Middot, and Holidays
- Ability to lead and instruct students of different abilities
- Enthusiastic and fun
- Professional and collaborative spirit
- Willingness to be mentored, to grow, and to learn
Qualifications for 4th grade teacher
- Basic knowledge of Hebrew
- Creative flare for bringing Judaic subjects to life by incorporating project-based learning, music and crafts
- Ability to lead and instruct students of different abilities
- Enthusiastic and fun
- Professional and collaborative spirit
- Willingness to be mentored, to grow, and to learn
- Broad knowledge of Torah, Israel, Mitzvot, Middot, and Holidays
Qualifications for 5th-6th grade Teacher
- Broad knowledge of Torah, Israel, Mitzvot, Middot, Jewish life cycles, and Holidays
- Ability to lead and instruct students of different abilities
- Enthusiastic and fun
- Professional and collaborative spirit
- Willingness to be mentored, to grow, and to learn
Compensation
Our working produce farm, small class sizes, and involved parent body, make teaching here a dream. We are offering competitive salary commensurate with experience. ($180-$250 per 2hr session depending on experience).
