Job Title: Construction Accountant
Location: Midtown Manhattan, NY (close to Penn Station)

About Us:
We are a well-established general contractor specializing in commercial and municipal construction projects in the New York metropolitan area. We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Accountant to join our finance team and ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the General Ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and properly documented.
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain account accuracy.
- Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, including vendor payments, subcontractor invoices, and client billing.
- Prepare AIA billing and other construction-related billing formats.
- Coordinate and execute month-end close procedures, including accruals and financial reporting.
- Assist in tracking project costs, change orders, and budget-to-actual performance.
- Collaborate with project managers and executives to ensure timely and accurate financial data.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry required.
- Strong knowledge of GL, AP/AR, bank reconciliation, and month-end close.
- Experience with AIA billing and construction payment applications.
- Proficiency in Procore and QuickBooks a plus.
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
