Cannawave is a locally owned New York Microbusiness cannabis dispensary dedicated to providing safe, compliant, and welcoming cannabis experiences. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager who can lead by example, support daily operations, coach staff, and help create an exceptional customer experience.
Responsibilities
· Assist with daily dispensary operations and opening/closing procedures.
· Supervise budtenders and support staff during shifts.
· Ensure compliance with New York State cannabis regulations and company SOPs.
· Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally.
· Assist with inventory management, audits, and product receiving.
· Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new employees.
· Monitor cash handling, POS transactions, and daily reconciliations.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and secure retail environment.
· Help drive sales goals and key performance indicators.
· Serve as Manager on Duty when needed.
· Assist with cultivation, processing, packaging, manufacturing, and inventory projects as needed to support overall company operations.
· Maintain flexibility to work in the dispensary, cultivation facility, or manufacturing environment based on business needs.
Qualifications
· Must be 21 years of age or older.
· Minimum 2 years of retail leadership, hospitality, or management experience.
· Cannabis industry experience preferred but not required.
· Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Experience with POS systems and inventory management.
· Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
· Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
· Must be willing and able to work in retail, cultivation, processing, packaging, and manufacturing environments when required.
