Duties
- Safely operate commercial box truck vehicles to deliver products along assigned routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload merchandise, often requiring heavy lifting and physical stamina
- Engage with customers professionally, answering questions, addressing concerns, and upselling additional products or services to enhance sales opportunities
- Verify delivery accuracy through proper documentation and pricing checks, ensuring correct orders are fulfilled
- Maintain organized route schedules, optimizing delivery efficiency and minimizing delays
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Merchandize products at customer locations when necessary to promote sales and product visibility
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a clean driving record
- Strong math skills for handling pricing, measurements, and inventory counts
- Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with customers and team members
- Ability to upsell products effectively by understanding customer needs and product features
- Knowledge of route driving best practices for efficiency and safety
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage deliveries, paperwork, and time effectively
- Physical strength for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking
- Background in sales or customer service roles is highly desirable
- Military experience involving logistics or driving is a valuable asset
