Chef – Village Beach Market
We are seeking a passionate and driven Chef to lead the culinary experience at Village Beach Market—a locally rooted gourmet market, café, and gathering place committed to being Simply Better for our customers, team, and community.
This role is about more than great food. It’s about serving people well, building a strong and accountable team, and delivering a consistent, high-quality experience our customers can trust every day.
As Chef, you will lead our kitchen with clarity and purpose—owning the menu, the systems, and the culture—while working alongside ownership to continue strengthening and simplifying how we operate.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the creation and execution of seasonal, high-quality menus that balance creativity with consistency
- Deliver food that is fresh, thoughtful, and dependable—every plate, every day
- Build, train, and develop a high-performing kitchen team rooted in accountability, respect, and pride in the work
- Oversee daily kitchen operations with a focus on organization, cleanliness, and professionalism
- Manage inventory, food cost, and labor with discipline and attention to detail
- Follow, refine, and strengthen kitchen systems that drive consistency and efficiency
- Support and grow our catering and event offerings with excellence and reliability
What We’re Looking For
- Proven leadership as a Chef or a strong Sous Chef ready to step into a leadership role
- Background in high-quality, scratch-driven kitchens (fine dining or elevated casual preferred)
- Strong understanding of food cost, systems, and kitchen operations
- A hands-on leader who leads by example and develops strong teams
- A mindset of continuous improvement—always looking for ways to get better
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
