Responsibilities
- Assist in menu planning and preparation of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Perform food handling tasks with attention to safety and sanitation protocols.
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and measuring spices.
- Cook menu items efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
- Assist with catering events as needed, ensuring that all food is prepared according to specifications.
- Support the dietary department by preparing meals that meet specific dietary needs.
Experience
- Previous experience as a cook or in food service is preferred but not required; we are willing to train motivated individuals.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and food preparation methods is beneficial.
- Familiarity with food handling regulations and safety practices is essential.
- Experience in catering or working within a dietary aide role is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment are important for success in this position.
