Pay range: $30 - $40/hr (on-call requirement)
Position Summary
The Power Systems Technician installs, programs, and maintains electrical and control systems for power generation, substations, and distribution facilities. This role supports daily operations by troubleshooting equipment, developing control system software, and ensuring reliable system performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install & maintain control systems including PLC, HMI, and SCADA
- Test & calibrate protective relays, metering, and associated equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 72.5 kV
- Prepare technical documentation such as one‑lines, schematics, and I/O lists
- Perform system studies including fault current, voltage drop, load flow, and arc flash
- Support outage & emergency response as needed
Requirements
- Experience with power plants, substations, or electric system operations
- Ability to install, program, and troubleshoot PLC/HMI/SCADA
- Knowledge of NESC, NETA, and NFPA standards
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Valid driver’s license
- High school diploma or equivalent
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
