Experienced DSPs – Orientation & Documentation Deadline Notice
Service Disabled Veterans Oasis (SDVO) – Maryland
Service Disabled Veterans Oasis (SDVO) is currently seeking experienced Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team in providing essential care to individuals with developmental disabilities across assisted living, memory care, and in-home settings.
This posting is for already experienced and credentialed DSPs. You must have all required certifications current and ready for submission.
Position Structure
DSPs begin as 1099 contractors, paid under Net 30 terms (payment issued 30 days after timesheet approval).
After successfully completing a 90-day introductory period, candidates may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time W-2 employee role, based on performance and client needs. W-2 employees are paid bi-weekly and may become eligible for benefits including medical, dental, and retirement plans.
Most DSPs start under 1099 status with the opportunity to transition into permanent employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with daily living activities (hygiene, dressing, meals, medication reminders)
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Monitor and report changes in physical or mental condition
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment
- Encourage participation in recreational, educational, and community activities
Qualifications & Requirements
- Prior experience in direct care, senior care, or developmental disabilities required
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean U.S. driving record for the past 3 years – NO exceptions
- No felony convictions – NO exceptions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic cooking and household management skills
Required Certifications (Must Be Current)
- First Aid / CPR
- CPI
- CMT or MET
