Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Dentrix Ascend and intra-oral scanners is a plus.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and assist with medical documentation as needed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions.
- Manage dental clinic operations, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries as a dental receptionist when necessary.
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medical coding as required.
- Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control standards throughout the clinic.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive care in areas such as general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and more.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic is preferred.
- Proficiency in Dentrix Ascend, is a plus.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures related to various specialties including pediatrics is essential.
- Ability to perform medical imaging procedures effectively using tools like 3D scanners.
- Strong communication skills with an emphasis on patient education and comfort.
- Understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques in a clinical setting.
- Basic Skills or EFDA Certification

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
