Licensed Insurance Sales Agent — Hourly Pay Plus Commission
Harbor Pointe Insurance Advisors is hiring a Licensed Insurance Sales Agent to join our growing agency.
This is an employee sales position with guaranteed hourly pay plus additional commission opportunities. We are looking for a motivated, licensed professional who wants to help families understand their insurance options while helping us expand Harbor Pointe Insurance Advisors.
Compensation
- Guaranteed hourly pay: $18 to $22 Per hour
- Additional commissions and performance incentives
- Paid training and ongoing sales development
- Regularly scheduled work hours
- Employee position—not a commission-only independent contractor opportunity
Commissions are earned in addition to the employee’s hourly wages and are based on eligible completed sales, carrier requirements, and the agency’s compensation plan.
Position Overview
The Licensed Insurance Sales Agent will communicate with prospective and existing clients, assess their insurance needs, explain available coverage options, conduct follow-up appointments, and help convert qualified opportunities into sales.
You will work directly with James Riddick and Harbor Pointe Insurance Advisors to help grow the agency, strengthen client relationships, and serve individuals and families in our community.
Primary Responsibilities
- Contact prospective and existing clients by telephone, email, Zoom, and other approved methods
- Respond to inbound inquiries and follow up with interested consumers
- Conduct insurance needs assessments
- Educate clients about appropriate insurance products and coverage options
- Present Medicare, life, health, and ancillary insurance solutions within the scope of your licenses and certifications
- Complete applications accurately and follow all carrier and compliance requirements
- Maintain detailed client notes and sales activity in the agency CRM
- Schedule appointments and consistently follow up with prospective clients
- Assist with client retention, policy reviews, and cross-selling opportunities
- Participate in regular Zoom training, coaching, and team meetings
- Meet reasonable activity, quality, compliance, and sales expectations
- Help Harbor Pointe develop stronger systems for agency growth and client service
Required Qualifications
- Active life and health insurance license
- Medicare experience or applicable Medicare certifications preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional, dependable, and comfortable speaking with the public
- Ability to explain insurance products clearly and ethically
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn CRM and carrier systems
- Strong follow-up, organization, and time-management skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a growing agency
- Commitment to compliance and protecting clients’ confidential information

- Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement sales

Work Schedule
Job type: Full-time/Part-time
Expected hours: 20 per week
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Some Saturdays
Work location: In office/Hybrid/Remote within approved states
Office location: Raleigh, NC, preferred but not required
Remote work, when permitted, is subject to agency policies, licensing requirements, performance expectations, and the employee’s approved work location.
