Job Title: Residential Aide

Hours: Evening - Night Shift, Weekends Required
Salary Range: $18.50 / hr.
Description:
Residential Aides serve the shelter guests and housing tenants by maintaining an active presence at nights and weekends. The duties include de-escalation of disputes or active bad behaviors due to mental health breakdowns, or drug use. Aides are a primary interface for medical emergencies or police activity, resolve lockouts, report suspicious activity, assist tenants with guests, assist tenants with daily activities. The aides make phone calls and referrals to partnering programs for housing, financial, medical, domestic violence, veterans, mental health and substances abuse. The aides assist with community events, perform basic janitorial and maintenance duties, which address the basic needs of the community. Residential Aides are the primary night support staff for housing and the primary site staff for shelter.
Job Duties:
Actively conduct hourly rounds of site, including hallways, alley ways, smoking areas etc. for safety issues.
Experience:
Knowledge:
Basic understanding and ability to work with formerly homeless persons with disabilities, addictions, mental health, and other situations unique to each client.
