- Review incoming RFQs and develop detailed manufacturing cost estimates
- Analyze:
- Engineering drawings
- BOMs
- Part models
- Specifications
- Calculate costs for:
- Materials
- Labor
- Outside processing/services
- Develop manufacturing sequences and routing strategies
- Establish setup times and cycle times for machining operations
- Create BOM structures and outside service operations
- Partner closely with:
- Manufacturing leadership
- Purchasing
- Sales teams
- Support quoting strategy and operational planning
- Help ensure estimates align with real-world manufacturing capability
- Work with tight-tolerance aerospace components and assemblies
- Interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
- Support continuous improvement and process optimization efforts
- 5+ years of aerospace estimating experience
- Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing and machining processes
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and models
- Experience with tooling, machining, or aerospace manufacturing environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
- Aerospace tooling or defense manufacturing background
- Experience with complex assemblies and tight-tolerance machining
- Knowledge of aerospace specifications and manufacturing standards
- Hands-on, collaborative manufacturing environment
- Direct interaction with shop leadership and operations teams
