Job Scope – Attic Carpentry & Electrical Contractor
We are seeking an experienced contractor to complete the carpentry and electrical portions of an attic HVAC preparation project. The HVAC equipment will be installed by a separate HVAC contractor, so this position focuses on preparing the attic for the new system.

- Construct a raised HVAC equipment platform using dimensional lumber.
- Build a sturdy attic service catwalk from the access opening to the HVAC platform.
- Install an attic service light.
- Install two light switches (one at the attic access and one near the HVAC platform).
- Install a new electrical receptacle adjacent to the HVAC equipment location.
- Reroute and replace attic electrical wiring as needed for a clean, code-compliant installation.
- Coordinate scheduling with the HVAC contractor to ensure the attic opening is completed before equipment installation.
- Return after HVAC installation to complete trim, drywall repair, texture matching, and a paint-ready finish around the enlarged attic access.
- Protect the customer's home during construction and perform a thorough cleanup upon completion.
Requirements
- Experience with residential framing and finish carpentry.
- Experience performing residential electrical work in accordance with current code requirements.
- Ability to work safely in attic environments.
- Must supply standard hand tools and jobsite equipment.
- Ability to coordinate with another trade (HVAC contractor) during the project.
- Strong attention to quality workmanship and cleanliness.
This is a residential remodeling project requiring quality craftsmanship, professionalism, and the ability to complete both rough carpentry and finish work while coordinating with another trade.
