Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Porter Exterior to join our facilities maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the exterior areas of our property. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will ensure that outdoor spaces remain inviting, well-kept, and compliant with safety standards. Duties
- Perform exterior cleaning tasks including sweeping, pressure washing, and trash removal to keep outdoor areas pristine
- Handle chemical agents safely for cleaning and surface treatment purposes, following all safety protocols
- Operate floor buffers and other custodial equipment to maintain outdoor walkways, entrances, and parking lots
- Conduct routine inspections of exterior surfaces, fences, and landscaping to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving furniture, equipment, or supplies using proper manual handling techniques
- Support facilities maintenance activities including minor repairs, painting touch-ups, and surface preparation for repairs or improvements
- Follow safe lifting practices during all manual handling tasks to prevent injuries and ensure workplace safety
Qualifications
- Prior experience in custodial work, janitorial services, or facilities maintenance is preferred
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques and industrial cleaning processes is highly desirable
- Experience with chemical agent handling and safe use of cleaning products is essential
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in accordance with safety guidelines
- Familiarity with floor care equipment such as buffers and scrubbers is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for routine inspections and upkeep tasks
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and perform manual tasks throughout the shift
