Duties
- Observe and monitor patients’ conditions regularly, noting any changes or concerns to ensure prompt response and appropriate care.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Administer medications following proper protocols and document medical records accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Perform vital signs assessments including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates to monitor patient health status.
- Support patients with specialized needs such as Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with laundry, cleaning duties, meal preparation, and ensuring infection control standards are met in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Document medical procedures and patient interactions thoroughly to ensure accurate medical records and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures essential for effective communication and documentation.
- Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health or community care environments.
- Skilled in patient observation techniques to identify changes in condition promptly.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate record keeping and medication administration documentation.
- Ability to assist with ADLs safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts and perform catheter care when necessary.
- Experience working with individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease in memory or hospice care settings.
- CPR certification along with knowledge of hospice care principles is highly desirable.
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with compassion for seniors and individuals with disabilities; able to handle sensitive situations discreetly while maintaining professionalism. Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
