We are looking for an organized Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to support day-to-day HR operations in Columbus, Ohio. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone with at least 2 years of experience who can manage employee onboarding, maintain accurate records, and help ensure compliance across core HR processes. The role will work closely with employees and internal stakeholders to deliver a smooth hiring and orientation experience while supporting employee updates, engagement efforts, and administrative coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the full onboarding process for new hires, including documentation, scheduling, and pre-employment activities.
- Administer background screening steps and track hiring paperwork to help ensure timely and compliant employee starts.
- Maintain and update employee information in HRIS and payroll systems, including Paychex, with a high level of accuracy.
- Organize and facilitate new employee orientation sessions to create a positive and informed introduction to the organization.
- Process employee status changes such as transfers, updates, and other personnel actions in accordance with HR procedures.
- Support HR compliance activities by keeping records current and assisting with standard policy and documentation requirements.
- Contribute to employee engagement and wellness initiatives by helping coordinate programs, communications, and related administrative tasks.
- Provide general HR administrative support and assist with operational updates, including system-related process changes when needed.
- 2+ years of experience in HR coordination, HR administration, or a closely related human resources support role.
- Hands-on experience with onboarding, new employee documentation, and candidate screening administration.
- Working knowledge of HRIS platforms and payroll systems, including experience with Paychex preferred.
- Familiarity with HR compliance practices and the ability to manage sensitive employee information confidentially.
- Experience conducting or supporting new employee orientation and employee record maintenance.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with a detail-focused and employee-focused approach.
