Come join a fun team of like-minded folks as we share our love of cooking and yoga with youth! Each day you will get to teach a small group of campers how to cook delicious vegetarian food with mindfulness and care. Counselors will also lead yoga and free play with campers, as well as enjoy a daily home-prepared snack!
Location: North Berkeley
Position Hours: General shift time, 12:30 - 6:30pm
Compensation: $18.67 - $21/hr for Staff, $22 - 24/hr for Lead Teacher
Required Qualifications and Experience
- 2+ years of experience or equivalent as a lead instructor in an afterschool program or summer camp
- Experience teaching any of the following topics: cooking, yoga, science, or outdoor education to elementary school aged youth
- College degree or senior standing in college

- Ability to stay calm and keep your sense of humor in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to follow directions and to work in a team
- Confidence and ability to take initiative and have a leadership role
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, upbeat, positive, mature attitude and respectful communication approach
- Ability to do yoga poses and play active games with campers
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist and turn, and lift 25 pounds
- Experience in the kitchen and can follow a recipe
- Knowledge of farmers markets, sustainable cooking practices, breathing, yoga and meditation
- Fun talents such as games, storytelling, music, arts and crafts
- Food Handler Certified (reimbursed)
- First Aid/CPR Certified (reimbursed)
