Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team to design, analyze, and deliver electrical systems for buildings and infrastructure projects. The role focuses on power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and communication systems, and roadway/highway lighting. The ideal candidate will apply engineering principles, use industry software (Revit, SKM, AGI32), ensure compliance with codes and standards, and collaborate across disciplines to complete projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed electrical designs for building and infrastructure projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and communication systems.

Perform load calculations, short-circuit analysis, coordination studies, and protection design using SKM and other analysis tools.

Create lighting layouts and perform lighting calculations and renderings using AGI32 and Revit.

Model electrical systems, produce construction documents and BIM models in Revit, and coordinate with architecture and other engineering disciplines.

Design highway and roadway lighting systems, ensuring compliance with applicable roadway standards and illumination criteria.

Prepare specifications, equipment schedules, and material takeoffs; review submittals and shop drawings.

Support project delivery by estimating work effort, preparing cost inputs, and assisting with proposals and bids.

Conduct site visits, perform field inspections, and support construction administration and commissioning activities.

Ensure designs meet NEC, local codes, and client-specific requirements; incorporate energy efficiency and sustainability considerations.

Communicate clearly with clients, contractors, and internal teams; mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; masters degree a plus.

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or EIT with intent to pursue PE.

Minimum 3 years of relevant electrical design experience; experience with building and infrastructure projects preferred.

Proficiency with Revit for BIM modeling and producing construction documents.

Experience using SKM for protection and coordination studies.

Experience with AGI32 for lighting calculations and visualizations.

Strong knowledge of power distribution design, short-circuit and coordination analysis, and protection practices.

Experience designing fire alarm and communication systems to code requirements.

Experience with lighting design for buildings and highway/roadway applications and familiarity with roadway lighting standards.

Working knowledge of NEC, local building codes, and electrical standards; experience with energy codes and sustainability practices.

Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and familiarity with project management tools.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills; ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
