About Whit’s Frozen Custard
Whit’s Frozen Custard is a fun, fast‑paced environment focused on quality, teamwork, and delivering an exceptional guest experience. Shift Leaders help guide the Scoop Squad, maintain store standards, and keep operations running smoothly.
What You’ll Do (Shift Leader Responsibilities)
You’ll perform all Scoop Squad duties plus take on leadership responsibilities during your shift.
Customer Service & Store Operations
- Provide friendly, fast, and accurate service at the counter and drive‑thru
- Prepare frozen custard treats, sundaes, Whitsers, shakes, waffle cones, and baked items
- Maintain cleanliness of counters, machines, dining areas, restrooms, and prep spaces
- Restock toppings, cones, cups, packaging, and supplies throughout the shift
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines (SC DHEC compliant)
- Assist with opening and closing duties
Leadership & Team Support
- Lead Scoop Squad team members during assigned shifts
- Ensure staff follow Whit’s standards for quality, cleanliness, and customer service
- Support training and onboarding of new team members
- Maintain a positive, upbeat environment that reflects Whit’s brand
- Communicate clearly with staff and escalate issues to management when needed
Cash Handling & Accountability
- Operate POS system and ensure accurate transactions
- Handle cash drawer counts and shift deposits
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low stock
What We’re Looking For
- Prior food service or retail experience preferred
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Reliable, punctual, and team‑oriented
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and peak seasonal hours
- Ability to lift 20–30 lbs and stand for extended periods
