We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. Duties
- Safely operate a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other commercial vehicles in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and ensure on-time arrivals.
- Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling of logistics cargo and hazardous materials when applicable.
- Secure cargo properly for transit, including hazardous goods or dangerous materials, following all safety protocols.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking manual transmissions, brakes, lights, tires, and other critical components.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and compliance documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery statuses, or any issues encountered during transit.
- Follow all safety procedures during loading/unloading processes and when handling specialized equipment like dump or roll-off trucks.
- Assist with route driving for deliveries across diverse environments while maintaining a high standard of safety and professionalism.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license.
- Hands-on experience operating manual transmission trucks preferred but not mandatory; training available for qualified candidates.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, hazardous materials regulations, and freight handling is highly desirable.
- Prior delivery driver experience involving route driving across urban and rural areas is advantageous.
- Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations related to hours of service, load securement, and hazardous materials transportation.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely during load & unload operations using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety standards with a clean driving record preferred.
