Licensed Solar Installation Subcontractor – Phoenix, Arizona
Compensation: $0.45–$0.55 per watt, plus approved adders
Service Area: Phoenix metropolitan area and surrounding communities
Lightyear Solar is expanding into Arizona and seeking an experienced, licensed solar installation subcontractor to support residential projects throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area.
This is a project-based subcontracting opportunity, not a full-time employment position. Initial project volume may be limited while we build operations in Arizona, but the opportunity has the potential to grow significantly. We are looking for an established contractor capable of completing projects independently without installation training.
Responsibilities
- Complete residential solar installations according to approved plans
- Install modules, racking, inverters, electrical equipment and balance-of-system components
- Complete roof penetrations, conduit runs, wiring, grounding and equipment labeling
- Follow applicable electrical, building, fire and manufacturer requirements
- Submit complete installation photographs and closeout documentation on time
- Commission systems and assist with resolving installation-related issues
- Complete corrections and workmanship-related service when necessary
- Maintain a clean, safe and professional job site
- Represent Lightyear Solar professionally while interacting with homeowners

Requirements
- Active Arizona Registrar of Contractors license in the appropriate electrical classification
- General liability insurance
- Workers’ compensation insurance when required
- Ability to perform permitted residential solar installations independently
- Familiarity with common solar equipment, installation methods and commissioning procedures
- Ability to provide a W-9 and certificates of insurance
Compensation
- $0.45–$0.55 per watt, depending on project scope, roof type and responsibilities
- Additional compensation for approved project adders
- 100% Payment after Final Inspection
- NET Payment terms are negotiable and will be established in the subcontractor agreement
