Position Overview
Prosperitus Solutions is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to support surgical services at William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) and its affiliated clinics at Fort Bliss, Texas. This mission-essential role is responsible for ensuring surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are properly decontaminated, sterilized, assembled, and prepared to support safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
- Attend and participate in all required training during scheduled work hours
- Perform decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and trays
- Ensure sterilization procedures comply with manufacturer instructions, infection control guidelines, and industry standards
- Prepare and organize case carts to support daily surgical operations and schedules
- Adhere to CDC guidelines, universal precautions, Joint Commission standards, and facility policies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with infection prevention protocols
- Inspect instruments and equipment for cleanliness, functionality, and completeness; report discrepancies or defects as necessary
- Report equipment malfunctions, damaged instruments, and supply shortages to supervisory personnel
- Utilize hospital computer systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Review surgical schedules to ensure required instruments and supplies are available and prepared in a timely manner
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time, on-site position
- Mission-essential role requiring reliability, flexibility, and punctuality
- Employees may be required to report to work during inclement weather unless otherwise directed
- Required training is provided and considered part of the workday
- Rotating shifts are required and are subject to change every three months
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of sterile processing experience within the past five (5) years in a hospital or medical facility setting
- Hands-on experience assembling surgical instrument trays and sterilizing medical equipment
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to following established procedures and protocols
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Preferred Qualifications
- Current CBSPD or CRCST certification
- Prior military healthcare, sterile processing, or surgical technician experience
- Familiarity with military healthcare systems and processes
Additional Requirements
- U.S. citizenship or eligibility in accordance with AR 25-2 requirements
- No felony convictions
- Ability to provide required medical, health, and immunization documentation
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications
- Willingness to learn and utilize systems such as CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, and DMHRSi
