Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM. This is an in-office position based in Historic Downtown McKinney, TX.

Are you an experienced accounting professional who enjoys building structure, improving financial processes, and helping a growing business scale?
TruLabs is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the company's day-to-day accounting operations during an exciting period of growth. Working closely with our Fractional CFO and executive leadership team, you'll own the accounting function while helping strengthen the financial infrastructure that supports a rapidly expanding consumer products business.
This is a highly visible, hands-on role responsible for maintaining accurate financial reporting, managing month-end close, overseeing inventory accounting, improving accounting processes, and connecting operational data with financial insights that support better business decisions.
While this position is an individual contributor today, it is designed to grow alongside the company, with future opportunities to build and lead an accounting team.

What You’ll Do:
Accounting Operations
- Own the day-to-day accounting function, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and account reconciliations
- Lead the monthly close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Prepare accurate monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation
- Reconcile corporate credit cards and employee expense reporting
- Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for leadership
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Assist with cash flow reporting and financial planning
- Build meaningful financial reports that help leadership make informed business decisions
- Partner with the Fractional CFO on financial analysis and strategic initiatives
Inventory & Business Operations
- Manage inventory accounting and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
- Reconcile inventory activity and investigate inventory variances
- Support purchasing processes and vendor management
- Help connect operational data with financial reporting to improve visibility into business performance
- Assist with process improvements across accounting and operations
Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare sales tax schedules and support tax filings
- Coordinate annual audits and tax preparation with external CPA partners
- Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, reporting, automation, and accounting workflows
- Participate in ERP, reporting, and technology improvement initiatives
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience serving as an Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, Lead Accountant, or similar role with increasing responsibility
- Strong understanding of both cash and accrual-based accounting under US GAAP
- Experience leading month-end close and preparing financial statements
- Strong General Ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting experience
- Experience with inventory accounting and Cost of Goods Sold
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, advanced formulas)
- Strong systems aptitude with experience using accounting software, reporting tools, and operational data
- Ability to analyze financial information and translate it into actionable business insights
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment

Preferred Experience
- CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification
- Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), supplements, manufacturing, food & beverage, or health & wellness experience
- Experience supporting retail, Amazon, eCommerce, DTC, or omnichannel businesses
- Experience with QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software
- Experience working with inventory-heavy businesses
- Experience building reports from multiple software platforms or databases
- Experience with EDI platforms such as SPS Commerce
- Experience improving accounting systems, reporting, and business processes
- Familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System)
