Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Apartment Leasing Consultant to join our property management team. This role involves guiding prospective residents through leasing processes, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring compliance with housing regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of property management operations. Experience with LIHTC, Yardi, and Fair Housing regulations is highly desirable. Duties
- Greet prospective tenants and conduct property tours, highlighting features and amenities to facilitate leasing decisions
- Manage leasing applications, including data entry, filing, and verification of applicant information using Yardi or OneSite software
- Assist applicants with understanding lease terms, contracts, and legal requirements related to landlord-tenant law and Fair Housing regulations
- Process lease agreements, renewals, and related documentation accurately and efficiently
- Maintain ongoing communication with current residents to support retention efforts and address inquiries via phone or in person
- Coordinate with maintenance teams regarding property upkeep and repairs through facilities management systems such as CMMS
- Uphold compliance with Section 8, LIHTC programs, and other affordable housing guidelines
- Upsell available units or additional services to prospective tenants while providing exceptional customer service
- Manage conflict resolution professionally to ensure positive relationships with residents and applicants
- Stay informed about local housing laws, Section 8 policies, and industry best practices in property leasing and management
Qualifications
- Proven experience in property management, leasing, or real estate administrative roles; experience with LIHTC, Section 8, or Fair Housing regulations is preferred
- Proficiency in Yardi, OneSite, or similar property management software; familiarity with Office experience including data entry and filing
- Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant law, contracts, legal administrative procedures, and conflict management techniques
- Excellent customer service skills with professional phone etiquette and relationship management abilities
- Ability to negotiate lease terms effectively while adhering to legal standards
- Experience in sales or upselling within a real estate or property management setting is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry and administrative tasks
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Valid office experience including filing systems; facilities management knowledge is a plus
