One of ENCAP's community programs is the Bellevue Food Pantry, which provides food assistance and delivery services to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and service-oriented Food Pantry & Delivery Specialist to support the daily operations of ENCAP's Bellevue Food Pantry Program. This position combines client service, food pantry operations, inventory management, and delivery driving to ensure community members have access to nutritious food and essential household items.

Job Summary
The Food Pantry & Delivery Specialist plays a critical role in the success of ENCAP's Bellevue Food Pantry Program. This position is responsible for assisting clients, preparing, and delivering food orders, maintaining inventory, supporting donation pickups, and ensuring the pantry remains organized, safe, and welcoming.
The role includes regular driving, lifting, loading, and unloading food products, and daily interaction with clients, volunteers, donors, and community partners.
Key Responsibilities
Client Services & Food Pantry Operations
- Provide welcoming, respectful, and client-centered customer service.
- Assist with client intake, eligibility verification, appointment scheduling, and record maintenance.
- Support food distribution activities while maintaining food safety and sanitation standards.
- Answer client phone calls, respond to inquiries, and coordinate delivery schedules.
- Assemble food orders and assist clients with loading food and household items.
Delivery Services
- Safely operate agency vehicles to deliver food and essential supplies to homebound clients.
- Deliver food and household items throughout the Bellevue-area service region.
- Plan and organize daily delivery routes for efficient service.
- Conduct donation pickups and transportation of pantry supplies.
- Maintain accurate delivery, mileage, and service records.
- Load, unload, and transport food and donations safely.
- This position spends a significant portion of the workweek driving, making deliveries, and loading/unloading supplies.
Inventory & Warehouse Support
- Receive, inspect, sort, stock, and organize donated food and household items.
- Track inventory and assist with monthly inventory counts.
- Maintain proper food rotation and storage practices.
- Keep pantry, storage, and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Community Outreach & Collaboration
- Participate in food drives, community outreach events, and special programs.
- Build positive relationships with clients, volunteers, donors, and community partners.
- Represent ENCAP professionally throughout the community.
Vehicle Safety & Maintenance
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections.
- Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and readiness for deliveries.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Experience providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office, email, web-based databases, and mobile devices.
- Effective communication, organization, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Ability to interact respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience in customer service, delivery services, warehouse operations, food service, nonprofit programs, social services, or a related field.
- Experience working with food-insecure populations or community-based programs.
- Experience working with volunteers.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the workday.
- Ability to load and unload food, donations, and pantry supplies.
- Ability to safely operate a vehicle and travel throughout the service area.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- This position regularly performs warehouse, pantry, and delivery-related duties requiring physical activity throughout the workday.
- Candidates should be comfortable moving food boxes, stocking shelves, and delivering items to clients' residences.
Schedule
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Primarily Monday–Friday
- Occasional evening and weekend community events is required.
Driving Requirement
Driving is an essential function of this position. Employees must maintain a valid driver's license, an acceptable driving record, and eligibility for coverage under ENCAP's motor vehicle insurance policy throughout employment.
