Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Experienced Daycare Attendant specialized in caring for large dogs. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care, supervision, and enrichment for our canine residents. Your enthusiasm for animal welfare, combined with your expertise in handling big dogs, will ensure a safe, fun, and healthy environment where pets thrive. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals and contribute to their happiness and well-being every day. This position includes tips after 6 months.
Responsibilities
- Supervise large dogs during playtime, rest periods, and feeding to ensure safety and proper behavior
- Handle dog training activities to promote good manners and socialization skills
- Assist with pet boarding, and daily pet care routines, including feeding, walking, and administering medications if needed
- Maintain cleanliness of the facility by sanitizing kennels, play areas, and equipment to uphold health standards
- Use animal restraint techniques safely during grooming, veterinary procedures, or health checks
- Monitor animal behavior closely to identify signs of stress or discomfort and respond appropriately
- Support team lifting and heavy lifting tasks when moving large dogs or equipment safely
Requirements
- Proven experience working with large dogs in a kennel, pet care facility, or veterinary setting
- Strong knowledge of animal handling, dog training, and canine behavior management
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Ability to perform outdoor work comfortably in various weather conditions
- Experience with animal restraint techniques, and kennel sanitization procedures
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor activity; capable of team lifting when necessary
- Knowledge of pet care best practices including animal behavior management and facility cleaning standards
