Position Summary
Alliance Health Centers is seeking an experienced and patient-centered Clinical Supervisor / Clinical Support Specialist to join our integrated healthcare team at our Bridge of Grace Health Center. This unique hybrid role combines direct clinical support with frontline leadership responsibilities. Approximately half of the position is dedicated to supervising clinical support staff, while the remaining time is spent providing direct patient care and clinical support to providers.
The Clinical Supervisor will support a Family Medicine Physician (12 hours/week) and an Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology Provider (8 hours/week) while leading a team of five clinical support staff. This individual plays an essential role in ensuring efficient clinic operations, maintaining high-quality patient care, supporting employee development, and fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment.
This position is ideal for a highly organized clinical professional who enjoys mentoring others, improving workflows, and delivering exceptional patient care.
Qualifications
Required
- Current certification or licensure as one of the following:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Minimum of five (5) years of outpatient clinical experience.
- Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize competing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
- Previous experience supervising or leading clinical staff.
- Experience working in Family Medicine and/or specialty outpatient practices.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages commonly spoken within the community).
Essential Responsibilities
Clinical Support
- Provide direct clinical support for the Family Medicine, OB and Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology providers.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and medication reconciliations.
- Assist with clinical procedures within scope of practice.
- Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments as appropriate for licensure and organizational policy.
- Coordinate laboratory testing, referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up care.
- Respond to patient messages and telephone calls in collaboration with providers.
- Maintain examination rooms, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.
Clinical Supervision
- Provide day-to-day supervision for approximately five clinical support staff.
- Conduct biweekly one-on-one meetings with assigned staff to provide coaching, professional development, performance feedback, and communication of organizational initiatives.
- Monitor employee performance and provide ongoing mentorship to promote clinical excellence and exceptional patient service.
- Approve and enter employee timecards in accordance with organizational policies.
- Assist with recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training of new clinical staff.
- Address employee performance concerns through coaching, documentation, and progressive discipline when appropriate.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to Alliance Health Centers’ standards.
- Collaborate with organizational leadership to support workforce planning and staff engagement.
Operational Responsibilities
- Assist with daily clinic operations to ensure efficient patient flow.
- Monitor staffing needs and coordinate coverage to maintain continuity of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and workflow optimization.
- Support compliance with HRSA, OSHA, HIPAA, infection prevention, and organizational policies.
- Assist with implementation of new clinical workflows, organizational initiatives, and best practices.
- Participate in department meetings and organizational committees as assigned.

Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
