About the Role
The Town of Mooresville is seeking a dedicated and motivated professional to join our Public Services team as a Transportation Engineer I, II, or III, with the final classification determined based on the candidate’s education, experience, and professional certifications.
Employees in this series perform professional transportation engineering work supporting the planning, design, and implementation of transportation improvements throughout the Town. Responsibilities include transportation planning, traffic operations analysis, development review, project management, and coordination with developers, contractors, regulatory agencies, and the public. This role contributes to creating a safe, efficient, and connected multi-modal transportation system that aligns with the Town’s long-term vision and growth initiatives.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Transportation Engineer I ($64,300.00-$85,700.00)- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university with coursework in Traffic and Transportation Engineering and 0–2 years of related experience.
- License: Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
- Certifications: Engineer Intern (EI) certification preferred.
Transportation Engineer II ($72,000.00-$96,000.00)- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university with coursework in Traffic and Transportation Engineering and 2–5 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- License: Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
- Certifications: Engineer Intern (EI) certification required.
Transportation Engineer III ($90,500.00-$120,600.00)- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university and 5–7 years of related transportation engineering experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- License: Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
- Certifications: Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in North Carolina required.
