The opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Merchandising Assistant to join our team in the apparel industry. The successful candidate will support the merchandising team in various tasks, including product development, costing support, sample support and operational support. This role requires strong organizational skills, a keen eye for fashion trends, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
The role
Major Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and execution of merchandising strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
- Be the expert - > category/market insights, brand/style performance, competitive/market offering
- Maintain and organize the competitive product libraryServe as PLM system expert, including linesheet maintenance, colorway setup, and milestone tracking
- Maintain accurate records of product information, including pricing, descriptions, and specifications.
- Manage adoption submissions and workflow timelines through timeline management systems
- Manage color roadmap execution by coordinating resources, validating sketches/colors, creating CADs, and maintaining roadmap accuracy
- Facilitate product claims approval processes in partnership with Design and cross-functional teams
- Oversee all sample tracking and troubleshooting, escalating risks and ensuring sample accuracy upon receipt
- Coordinate DC sample order needs including fit sessions, meetings, and retailer requests
- Coordinate and manage sell-in materials including color cards, samples, and other meeting needs
- Support alignment and communication across Design, Merchandising, Product Management, and Sourcing teams
- Participate in weekly roadblock meetings, providing updates and driving follow-up actions to resolution
The requirements
Education/ Experience
- Bachelor's degree + 1 year work experience OR Master's + 0 relevant work experience; 4+ years of equivalent work experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree.
Specific Skills or Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Apparel and Textiles, or a related field.
- Minimum experience of 1+ years
- Experience in providing administrative support, including scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and managing documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility in handling unexpected issues and adjustments in sample schedules.
- Ability to stay updated on industry trends and competitive landscape.
- Bi-lingual preferred

- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data analysis, reporting, and presentation.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.

- Skill in coordinating product development, assortment planning, and inventory management tasks.
- Familiarity with apparel production processes, quality control standards, and industry regulations.
