Responsibilities
- Design and implement comprehensive music curricula tailored to K-8 students, incorporating general music, band, and chorus activities that align with educational standards and student needs.
- Deliver energetic, interactive lessons that accommodate various learning styles and promote active participation among students.
- Integrate educational technology and learning management systems (LMS) to enhance lesson delivery and track student progress effectively.
- Develop performance opportunities such as concerts, recitals, and competitions to showcase student achievements and foster community engagement.
- Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development, instructional modifications, and assessment strategies to support diverse learners, including students with special needs or autism.
- Maintain classroom management through positive behavior reinforcement techniques while ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all students.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance, progress reports, and upcoming events to foster strong home-school connections.
Requirements
- Proven experience teaching music to children across elementary and middle school levels, with a strong understanding of childhood development principles.
- Proficiency in classroom management techniques, differentiated instruction, and implementing IT-integrated lessons using LMS platforms.
- Knowledge of curriculum development, assessment tools including standardized testing, and educational compliance standards.
- Skills in instructional modifications to support various learning styles and special education needs such as autism or behavioral challenges.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues on faculty teams, participate in educational planning meetings, and contribute to school-wide initiatives.
