Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contracts Manager as a leader and advisor on a technical team in the development and implementation of cutting-edge projects for the Department of the Air Force. They will oversee and guide contractual activity through project nomination, systems integration, subcontractor progress, and component testing, ensuring coordination with government representatives, and aligning with strategic objectives & customer compliance. They will leverage their knowledge of the FARs and DFARs to accelerate government publication of contractual documentation for all phases of vendor interaction.

Work is hybrid; most work is from home but with routine in-person duties as directed by sponsor. Must reside within 50 miles of Langley AFB to be able to attend requisite meetings.
Duties
- Manage contract-related activities, ensuring compliance with DoD regulations, reviewing documentation and monitoring vendor performance.
- Coordinate closely with government offices for data security and contract modifications; assist with financial oversight and monetary transfers.
- Work closely with dedicated team project managers to capture requirements and translate into impactful statements of work which provide seamless integrations across vendor teams.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred.
- At least 12 years of experience in Department of Defense operations
- Proven experience in a contract management roles, especially those involving technological innovation and intellectual property rights.
- Significant involvement with military aircraft, either as a pilot with a minimum of 1000 hours of flight time, or through substantial documented experience of contractual activity within military settings.
- Experience with the development and testing of autonomous systems, military training technologies, and Major Command staff are highly desired.
- Weapons School / Test Pilot School graduate highly desired.
- Must be US citizen.
- Must have and be able to keep Top Secret clearance (completed SSBI within 5 years).
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
- Experience in project management methodologies and tools is highly desirable.
Travel
- Team member travel will be approximately 10%-25% in this role
