If you are ready to become a key person in a growing legal practice, this may be the role you have been looking for.
The Neighborhood Law Group is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to work closely with the supervising attorney and play a central role in the day-to-day progression of foreclosure matters.
This position is designed for a litigation paralegal who wants greater responsibility, deeper involvement in each matter, and the opportunity to make a visible impact on the firm’s work and client experience.
Prior foreclosure experience is helpful but not required. We are looking for someone with a strong litigation foundation who can learn the foreclosure process and grow into increasingly independent management of the procedural and operational aspects of the docket under attorney supervision.
The Opportunity
You will help move foreclosure matters from the initial review for litigation through settlement, judgment, sale, dismissal, or other resolution.
Your role will include reviewing files for readiness, maintaining accurate financial information, preparing litigation documents, communicating with clients and opposing counsel, and making sure each matter has a clear next step.
You will also have the opportunity to develop specialized experience in foreclosure and community association law while contributing to the systems and workflows used by the department.
What You Will Do
- Review collection matters, supporting documents, ledgers, notices, liens, title, and ownership information for foreclosure readiness
- Identify missing information, inconsistencies, and issues requiring attorney review
- Compile and reconcile balances, payments, credits, interest, legal fees, and costs
- Prepare payoff, estoppel-related, settlement, pleading, affidavit, and judgment calculations for attorney review
- Prepare and file pleadings, motions, affidavits, notices, proposed orders, and other litigation documents
- Coordinate service of process and track deadlines, pleadings, defaults, hearings, orders, and next actions
- Assist the supervising attorney with contested matters and prepare cases for settlement, judgment, sale, dismissal, or other resolution
- Initiate litigation payment plans and prepare related documentation
- Communicate professionally with clients, property managers, board members, owners, opposing counsel, and vendors
- Maintain complete case information and promptly escalate bankruptcy, probate, title, service, ledger, payment, and contested-case issues
What We Are Looking For
- At least three years of recent litigation experience in a law-firm environment
- Experience preparing litigation documents and managing court deadlines
- Strong organization, accuracy, judgment, communication, and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple active matters and competing deadlines
- Confidence communicating with clients, owners, and opposing counsel
- Ability to communicate professionally in spoken Spanish
- Ability to work independently on routine matters while recognizing when attorney review is required
Florida Courts E-Filing Portal experience is strongly preferred.
Experience in foreclosure, creditors’ rights, collections, community association law, real estate law, Clio Manage, or payoff calculations is helpful but not required. Education will be considered together with practical law-firm experience.
