Store Manager
DEPARTMENT: Texas - Houston
REPORTS TO: Ownership
GRADE: Exempt
HOURS: M-F7:30 am – 5:00 pm / Rotating Saturdays 9a-noon
Summary:
This position is responsible for all aspects of store operations; including staffing, sales, accounts, inventory, deliveries/customer service, and compliance of Company policies and procedures. Midwest Tile operates M-F 730a-5p and rotating Saturdays 9a-noon. This role is also responsible for in-person meets with fabricators and customers on a regular basis. A person in this role will be successful if they are motivated, outgoing, a go getter, used to doing multiple duties at any given time, overall, has a dynamic personality. Retail management background is beneficial but, not required. Position is salary with bonus options.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manages and oversees all facets of the daily operations, ensuring compliance with company, state and federal policies and regulations
- Supervise personnel, which includes work allocation, training, guidance, follow-up, and enforcement of internal procedures and controls, and problem resolution
- Evaluates employee performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance
● Establish dependable, transparent, and quality relationships with customer base
● Maintain positive customer relations, handle complaints/problems with care and superior service
● Maintain a facility that has safety as the #1 priority
● Keep inventory up to date and provide materials for current and future trends
● Monitor sales, deliveries, and credit limits
● Oversee credit accounts, cash received, and COD accounts. Follow policies on cash deposits.
● Communicate and follow directives from corporate
· Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas. This includes unloading of material containers, flatbeds, and other transportation vehicles
· Perform other job-related duties as assigned to or as operational needs dictate
· Consistent, daily, reliable attendance is an essential requirement for the job
Qualifications:
· Possession of a bachelor’s degree and/or five years of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Retail management experience is very beneficial
· Ability to understand and enforce company, state and federal policies and regulations
- Ability to supervise and train employees; to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
- Capable of independent thinking, decision making, forward focused, think outside the box, and outstanding customer service skills
· Very good at communicating with internal and external customers, members of management, co-workers, and staff
· Clean, well-organized, energetic with strong people skills
· Ultimately - hardworking, reliable, retain information well, service orientated, and able to do physical work
· Bi-lingual is helpful but, not needed
· Valid driver’s license, medical card, and ability to travel
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
· Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
· Exposed to both indoor and outdoor elements
· Able to climb onto flatbeds, into containers, drive forklifts, and lift/move materials
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
