Position Summary
As a Sales Associate, you are often the first and last impression our customers have of our business. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming, knowledgeable, and professional shopping experience while assisting customers with products, memberships, classes, and services. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, eager to learn, and passionate about delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Greet every customer with a positive and welcoming attitude.
- Build relationships with customers by identifying their needs and recommending appropriate products and services.
- Assist customers with retail purchases, memberships, gift cards, and class registrations.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of firearms, ammunition, accessories, and range services (training provided as needed).
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently.
- Answer phone calls and respond to customer questions professionally.
- Process transactions, returns, exchanges, and special orders.
- Restock merchandise, price products, and maintain organized, attractive displays.
- Help keep the sales floor, showroom, and work areas clean and presentable.
- Promote current sales, promotions, memberships, and upcoming events.
- Work collaboratively with Range Safety Officers, instructors, and other team members to provide a seamless customer experience.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local firearm regulations.
- Complete opening, closing, and daily operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while multitasking.
- Basic computer and cash handling skills.
- Ability to learn product knowledge and industry regulations.
- Firearm knowledge is preferred but not required—we are happy to train the right candidate. However, a FOID is required.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
