Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct initial patient assessments, including vital signs measurement and medical history review.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) and photos using dental imaging equipment while maintaining strict infection prevention protocols.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster long-term oral health habits.
- Assist with chairside procedures by preparing instruments, managing dental equipment, and ensuring smooth workflow during treatments
- Maintain accurate and detailed electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Dentrix), ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and safeguarding patient confidentiality.
- Support infection control standards through aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and adherence to healthcare infection prevention protocols.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
- Proven experience with dental office management software such as Dentrix.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
- Experience providing dental care patient education
- Familiarity with general dentistry procedures, dental x-ray techniques, and chairside assisting skills including medical assessment and patient care.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages fostering a welcoming environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA compliance management, medical records documentation review, and electronic health records (EHR) management.
- Pay negotiable depending on experience

Experience:
- dental hygiene: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Dental Hygiene License in the state of Virginia (Preferred)
- CPR Certification or willingness to obtain (Preferred)
