MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY

Background Prerequisites
Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey, in addition to any mandatory licensing requirements.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Six (6) months of demonstrated, consistent and highly competent Security Officer Experience.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Applicable Instructor Certifications
Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing):
- 5 Star program certification (or equivalent) required for internal candidates; for external candidates must successfully complete 5 Start program within 3 months.
- Skill in the use of audio-visual equipment and personal computers, including presentation software.
- Oral and written communications skills; presentation and group facilitation skills.
- Ability to understand the security service needs of customers and devise appropriate training strategies.
- Skill in observation, coaching and providing feedback to associates.
- Establish and maintain professional, effective working relationships with employees, client representatives and the public.
- May be required to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.
- Valid driver’s license, if required to drive.
- Ability to carry out multiple assignments concurrently.
- Ability to be an effective team member, as Training Officer to lead by example, to handle project assignments responsibly and to encourage and to develop team cohesiveness.
- Strong customer service, interpersonal skills and results.

- Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure or stressful situations.

- Required ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Keyboarding and computer usage.
- Seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly in order to provide training and to make presentations, communicate with employees and clients, observe and report incidents, and direct others.
- Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain.
- Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling.
- Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
- Close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- May be required to use vehicle for the performance of duties.
- On occasion may be required to perform stressful and physical activity.
- Depending upon assignment may be exposed to inclement weather or be required to work in environments or under conditions that require the use of protective gear and devices and/or awareness of personal safety and safety of others.
- May be exposed to or required to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- May be required to physically demonstrate various procedures.
- May be required to travel occasionally or frequently to training sites.
