The ideal candidate will inspire students through engaging visual arts instruction, foster creativity and self-expression, and create a positive learning environment where all students can succeed.The Art Teacher will provide developmentally appropriate instruction for elementary-aged students, design enriching art projects, and support students in building artistic skills while encouraging confidence, critical thinking, and appreciation for the arts.Essential ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver engaging art lessons aligned with school and state curriculum standards.Teach foundational artistic concepts, techniques, and art history to elementary students.Create a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes creativity and learning.Develop projects that encourage self-expression, problem-solving, and critical thinking.Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of student achievement.Display student artwork throughout the school and assist with art showcases and special events.Manage classroom supplies, materials, and equipment effectively.Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success.Maintain professional communication with parents and school staff.Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events as required.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Art Education or a related field required.Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate or eligibility to obtain certification preferred.Previous experience teaching elementary-aged students preferred.Strong classroom management and communication skills.Ability to create engaging and inclusive learning experiences for diverse learners.Passion for fostering creativity and artistic growth in young students.Desired SkillsKnowledge of a variety of artistic media, techniques, and instructional strategies.Ability to motivate and inspire students of varying skill levels.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Collaborative mindset and positive attitude.Commitment to student growth and achievement.Compensation & BenefitsPay: $38.00 per hourSchedule: 9:00 AM 4:45 PM, MondayFridayHours: 37.5 hours per weekContract Length: 10 monthsBenefits: Comprehensive benefits package available
