Member Duties : Valley Verde is a nonprofit advancing food security, justice, and sovereignty in San José, Morgan Hill, and Gilroy, through urban gardening education and resources. The position is for the second year of a three-year project to develop a community urban market. The position involves planning and building support for a new community urban market that reduces food insecurity and boosts incomes, while improving our understanding of the food-related needs of Santa Clara County residents. The VISTA will conduct community assessment via interviews and surveys, perform research into similar vegetable marketplaces, and work with Valley Verde staff to develop a pilot program for this initiative.
