Job Description
- Assist with patient intake, including collecting medical histories, vital signs, medication reconciliations, and documenting symptoms accurately in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Exam room preparation: Clean and stock rooms between visits.
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as hearing tests, specimen collection, injections, and other point-of-care testing as directed by the provider.
- Patient discharge: Assist with follow-up instructions, review basic next steps, and provide guidance regarding lab or x-ray test orders as directed by the provider.
- Triage faxes and mail: Deliver items needing provider signature, and fax documents to pharmacies, providers, insurance, DME vendors, and home care services.
- Care Coordination: Assist with referrals, prior authorizations, and coordination of care.
- Patient communication: Relay patient inquiries to the provider and communicate provider-approved medical messages, instructions, and follow-up information to patients.
- Maintain documentation of patient interactions, procedures performed, and follow-up instructions in EHR systems
- Administrative Support: Support front desk and administrative tasks such as scheduling, patient check-in/out processes, when needed in a small clinic setting
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office setting preferred.
- CMA or equivalent Medical Assistant certification is appreciated.
- Fluency in English
- Korean language appreciated, not required.
- Ability to multitask, maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards, and communicate with patients.
- Familiarity with basic medical terminology and clinical workflows.
- Willingness to support both clinical and administrative tasks as needed.
Compensation
- $22–$30 per hour, depending on Korean/English bilingual skills, Medical Assistant certification/license, and 2+ years of relevant experience.
