Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent patient care, promoting oral health, and maintaining high standards of professionalism. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a vital role in delivering quality care to our patients through oral hygiene treatments, education, and preventative services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments.
- Conduct patient assessments, including reviewing dental histories, taking x-rays, and examining teeth and gums for signs of disease.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, nutrition, and overall dental health.
- Assist the dentist in diagnosing and treating dental issues by identifying potential problems during cleanings.
- Apply sealants, desensitizing agents, and other treatments as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documenting treatments and recommendations.
- Sterilize and prepare instruments and treatment rooms in accordance with infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide a positive patient experience and improve treatment outcomes.
- Stay updated on current dental hygiene practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
- Required: Active Dental Hygienist license in Michigan.
- Preferred: 2 years of experience in a dental office setting.
- Knowledge of dental software (EagleSoft).
- Proficient in taking x-rays and using dental hygiene tools.
- Strong communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to educate patients in a clear, compassionate manner.
