Position Summary
The Construction Services Engineer is responsible for supporting and growing the company’s Construction Services offering through a combination of robotic layout execution, customer engagement, and project coordination. This role bridges field operations, customer relationships, and internal scheduling to ensure construction layout services are executed efficiently and positioned effectively with general contractors.
This position operates with light oversight and requires a high level of initiative, organization, and professionalism. The role is expected to evolve as the Construction Services offering grows and matures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Robotic Layout Operations
- Operate and manage a robotic layout system (Dusty Robotics) on active construction jobsites
- Execute layout for walls, MEP elements, and related building components in accordance with project plans
- Review and utilize layout files provided by architects, engineers, and internal teams
- Verify layout accuracy and perform quality control checks prior to and during field execution
- Travel to jobsites as required, typically averaging approximately once per week
- Represent the company professionally while working in customer-facing environments
Sales Support & Customer Engagement
- Visit general contractors, construction managers, and project teams to introduce and explain Construction Services offerings
- Support the sale of robotic layout services through in-person meetings, phone calls, and jobsite visits
- Educate customers on the value, capabilities, and use cases of robotic layout technology
- Serve as a technical resource for customers during early project discussions and preconstruction phases
- Build and maintain strong relationships with repeat customers and project partners
Project Coordination & Scheduling
- Coordinate with internal teams and customers to schedule layout services at the appropriate stages of construction
- Communicate with general contractors and superintendents to align layout timing with project schedules
- Assist in tracking upcoming projects where Construction Services may be applicable
- Ensure smooth handoffs between sales discussions, scheduling, and field execution
Preconstruction & Office Support
- Support basic takeoffs, scope reviews, and preconstruction coordination related to layout services
- Collaborate with internal sales, design, and operations teams to align Construction Services with active projects
- Assist in refining workflows and processes as the Construction Services offering develops
Qualifications and Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in construction, field operations, preconstruction, or related roles
- Field experience in construction or framing strongly preferred
- Manual layout experience preferred to support understanding of jobsite conditions
- Proficiency with CAD or construction drawings required
- Comfortable interacting directly with customers and jobsite personnel
- Ability to work independently with light supervision
- Willingness and ability to travel regionally
- Bachelors in engineering or construction management

Work Schedule and Environment
Standard work schedule of 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Schedule flexibility is required to accommodate jobsite visits and project schedules. The role consists of a combination of office-based work, jobsite field work, and customer meetings.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
