Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Lead and supervise retail staff to ensure high levels of customer service and sales performance
- Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, and merchandising to maximize sales opportunities
- Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new team members
- Handle cash register operations, POS systems, and cash handling procedures accurately
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational guidelines
- Contribute to training and development initiatives to enhance team skills and knowledge
Skills
- Proven experience in retail store management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a diverse team
- Excellent communication skills, including managerial communication and phone etiquette
- Proficiency in POS systems, inventory control, bookkeeping, payroll, and basic math
- Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and manage purchasing processes
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
- Experience with retail sales management, merchandising, pricing strategies, and operational management
- Knowledge of grocery store or retail product knowledge is advantageous
- Skills in training & development, budgeting, sales management, and store operations are highly valued
