Fiber optic technicians specialize in splicing and terminating fiber optic cables to expand telecommunications networks into new areas or to replace existing lines.
Responsibilities would include: Splice fiber optic cables, Troubleshoot and perform maintenance to resolve signal problems, Operate technical equipment, Reading and interpreting work prints and splice diagrams, Keep detailed record of work activity.
Qualifications: Proficiency with hand tools, Knowledge and use of a bucket truck preferred but will train right candidate, Must be able to lift and carry up to 70lbs, Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary, Must be able to work in all weather conditions, Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, Must have a valid drivers license, Must be authorized o work in the United States, Must be able to pass a drug test, background check and MV screening
