This is a full-time on-site role for a Research and Development Engineer. The role is located in Hayward.
The engineer will participate in all facets of medical device engineering, supporting a full range of activities such as: bench testing new product development, sustaining current product lines, verification and validation, and process improvement activities.
The engineer will work closely with a cross-functional team to support existing product and new product development. Products developed are done so in accordance with the Quality Management System and company objectives and timelines.
Job Duties:

Support senior members of the engineering team in benchtesting new product development

Design verification test methods, test fixtures, and execute verification test methods.

Compile test data, perform statistical analysis, and document results in reports.

Contribute to the design of new products, including developing CAD models, drawings, and specifications.

Build prototypes and solve problems.

Interact with physicians and nurses at clinical sites to support clinical studies and/or product evaluations.
Preferred Qualifications and Work Experience:

Be familiar with medical device development life cycles and manufacturing processes and technologies.

3D Modeling experience along with 2D dimensioning and tolerancing.

Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools. Experience with Solidworks and/or Fusion 360 is a plus.

Experience in designing and testing prototypes.

Electromechanical and programming experience are valued.

Experience with statistical techniques.

Willingness to travel to support product lines at Contract Manufacturers overseas.
Minimum Requirements and Education:

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering field.

Ability to focus on and achieve scheduled benchmarks.

Strong team-work and communication skills.

A drive to get the job done in the face of obstacles and time constraints, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed.
