Position Summary
The Certified Preschool & Pre-Kindergarten Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, Christ-centered learning environment for children ages 3–5. This position leads a classroom of no more than 15 students and delivers high-quality instruction aligned with Arkansas Early Learning Standards while integrating Christian values, STEAM education, social-emotional development, and kindergarten readiness skills.
The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, committed to academic excellence, and dedicated to helping each child develop spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instruction and Curriculum
- Plan and implement engaging daily lesson plans aligned with Arkansas Early Learning Standards and kindergarten readiness benchmarks.
Deliver developmentally appropriate instruction in literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, and social-emotional learning.
- Integrate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) concepts into classroom activities and projects.
- Utilize hands-on learning experiences, inquiry-based instruction, and creative problem-solving opportunities.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain student portfolios documenting growth and progress.
Christian Education
- Incorporate Christian values, character development, and biblical principles throughout daily instruction and interactions.
- Lead age-appropriate prayers, Bible stories, and faith-based activities.
- Model Christ-like behavior, compassion, integrity, and respect.
- Support the mission and values of the school through positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
Classroom Management
- Create and maintain a positive, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Implement proactive behavior management strategies that encourage self-regulation and positive choices.
- Establish consistent classroom routines and expectations.
- Maintain classroom ratios and ensure student safety at all times.
Family Engagement
- Build positive relationships with parents and caregivers.
- Communicate regularly regarding student progress, classroom activities, and developmental milestones.
- Participate in parent conferences, family events, and school activities.
- Respond professionally and promptly to parent questions and concerns.
Compliance and Documentation
- Maintain compliance with Arkansas Minimum Licensing Standards and all school policies.
- Complete required assessments, lesson plans, attendance records, incident reports, and developmental documentation.
- Participate in professional development and staff training.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school operations.
Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with administrators, support staff, therapists, and other teachers.
- Participate in faculty meetings, curriculum planning, and school improvement initiatives.
- Support school-wide events, programs, and outreach activities.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
- Current Arkansas Teaching License (P–4, K–6, or equivalent).
- Minimum of two years of teaching experience in early childhood education.
- Experience implementing STEAM-focused learning activities.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to integrate Christian values into daily teaching practices.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with young children throughout the day.
Preferred
- Master's Degree in Education or Child Development.
- Experience in private school, preschool, or faith-based educational settings.
- Training in Teachstone CLASS, Conscious Discipline, REACH, or similar child development frameworks.
- Experience with technology integration and educational software.

- Knowledge of kindergarten readiness standards.

Classroom Specifications
- Age Group: Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten (3–5 years old)
- Maximum Enrollment: 15 students
- Student-to-Teacher Ratio: In accordance with Arkansas licensing requirements
- Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
- School Environment: Private Christian School

Pay: $37,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
