Assistant Marketing Manager, Skincare & Haircare
The Mentholatum Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rohto Pharmaceutical, is on an ambitious mission to bring the best of Japanese beauty and personal care to the U.S. market. We are looking for a curious, driven, and creative Assistant Marketing Manager to join our growing Skincare and Haircare team and help us build and elevate a portfolio that is redefining what J-beauty means for American consumers.

You will help grow and shape a portfolio anchored by iconic brands: Hada Labo, Melano CC, Oxy Acne Care, alongside launching an exciting new haircare brand.
This role offers a 360° CPG marketing experience: you will develop brand positioning and creative, collaborate on redesigns and new product launches, run social and digital marketing campaigns, build PR programs, and learn how to manage a brand P&L like a general manager. · Reports to: Senior Marketing Manager, Skincare & Haircare
The Portfolio
· Hada Labo: Japan's #1 skincare brand. Anchored in Super Hyaluronic Acid™ technology and deep pharmaceutical heritage, Hada Labo is the centerpiece of our long-term growth strategy in the U.S. This is a brand with huge potential, part of the growing Asian beauty segment, and we are focused on revamping the brand for the US consumer
· Melano CC: A cult-favorite brand in Vitamin C-driven brightening, beloved in Asia and rapidly gaining recognition among informed U.S. skincare consumers. We are working to develop a strong platform for educational storytelling and ingredient-forward marketing
· Oxy Acne Care:
· New brands: We are actively reviewing and developing new brands in skincare and haircare to grow our portfolio. You will be part of building from the ground up: positioning, naming. messaging, launch strategy, creative campaign development
What You’ll Be Doing
· Brand strategy: Support and help shape long-term brand positioning and strategy, ensuring consistency and clarity across audiences. Contribute to brand repositioning work, including messaging architecture, consumer targeting, and competitive differentiation. Conduct competitive analysis across beauty segments to identify white spaces
· Campaign and asset creation: Lead consumer campaign execution from brief through launch, orchestrating agencies and internal teams across paid and owned channels. Maintain creative excellence and strong brand expression across all assets with a high bar for visuals and messaging
· New product development: Assist in end-to-end new product launch management, from concept briefs through retailer sell-in and launch. Contribute to claims, clinical development, and artwork development. Coordinate cross-functionally including R&D, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Sales
· Marketing and media activations: Partner with ecomm, digital, social, influencer, creative, and PR teams to develop and manage cohesive campaigns. Manage tactical marketing initiatives, including consumer promos, reviews, digital content, etc.
· Business management: Learn to managea brand P&L, support monthly financial forecasting process, manage brand budgets for marketing activities, pull syndicated consumer data to identify trends and opportunities, assist in preparing internal and external presentations
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree and 1–3 years of relevant brand marketing; ideally in personal care or a lifestyle brand
· Genuine passion for beauty and curiosity about the Asian beauty landscape
· Strategic thinker who can also roll up your sleeves and drive execution
· Strong creative instincts; able to evaluate work through both a brand and consumer lens.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills; collaborates easily across functions and agency partners
· Analytical mindset, comfortable with numbers and data
· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and confident managing multiple workstreams.
