Job Responsibilities
- Use techniques based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to work with children who have been diagnosed with developmental and/or emotional disabilities (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, Conduct Disorders), in homes, schools, and community settings
- Teach skills in developmental areas such as language, communication, learning-to-learn, play, social, listening, self-care, independent living, academics, and others
- Follow behavior plans for each client
- Take data pertaining to behaviors and skills
- Communicate with team members
- Have FUN with children
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
- Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) may be expected to analyze monthly data, assist with reports, train other behavior technicians in the field, and keep logbooks/programs up-to-date
Requirements
- Current Driver's License and Automobile Insurance
- Proof of Citizenship
- Pass an FBI/DOJ background check
- Behavior Technician education: high school diploma (working towards bachelor's degree preferred)
- Registered Behavior Technician education/training: high school diploma (working towards bachelor's degree or higher preferred); current registration through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
- At least one year of childcare and/or ABA experience is strongly preferred
Physical requirements
- Lift and carry at least 30 pounds
- Frequent bending, kneeling, sitting on the floor, and reaching
- Engaging in various ball play activities
- Running
- Standing, sitting and walking for long periods of time on various surface
- Driving your own vehicle
- Emailing/texting
- Handling and assembling small games/puzzles/etc.
- Singing with children
